ECDIS - Electronic Chart Display and Information System
The trainee will acquire knowledge of the basic principles and the usage of ECDIS, as well as the system-related limitations. The training course has been approved by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency.
Use and handling of ECDIS, legal aspects and requirements, principal types of electronic charts and datas, navigational functions and routing, interpretation of errors and risk evaluation. Benefits and limitations of the system. Backup, updating and maintenance of the system. Simulation of complex situations and practical application. Course takes place with minimum of 6 participants. We are able to organise courses with training on specific equipment like SAM, TRANSAS or FURUNO on demand.
Duration: 5 days | Language: English and German | Target group: holder of nautical certificate of competence in accordance with STCW respectively (including ARPA) on enquiry (preliminary ARPA-course possible) | Costs: EUR 1,150 per person (or individual by appointment in small groups)
