Energy evaluations of buildings

This module is comprised of the following sub-modules:

Energy evaluation of buildings – as an example of lighting design 
Energy evaluation of buildings – as an example of building climates
Energy evaluation of buildings – as an example of EnEV

Contents:

Students will learn the basic, technical principals of an energy efficient building from an ecological perspective.

  • Consideration of the building over the course of the day and year in relation to its location
  • Sun, light, warmth and air - indoor climate
  • The building's envelope - function, dimensions and design
  • Construction and installation - building technology and the relationship between the building's construction and use

Objectives:

The students will be able to evaluate an office building in regards to light, building comfort and energy efficiency.
